The call occurred amid intensified mediation involving Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt and discussion of a revised draft proposal addressing Iran’s nuclear programme. On Tuesday and in the days around it, sources said Netanyahu was very upset after the call, described as having his 'hair on fire,' while Trump indicated openness to negotiation but kept military options on the table. Regional mediators reportedly prepared a memo outlining commitments and conditions for potential release of frozen Iranian assets, and talks are expected to continue.
