Israeli airstrikes have left widespread destruction across Beirut’s southern suburbs, including Dahiyeh and Choueifat, areas widely associated with Hezbollah. Reuters footage shows residents searching through rubble, smashed cars and debris-strewn rooftops, with armed men positioned near damaged buildings. Large sections of residential neighborhoods have been flattened, leaving apartment blocks reduced to mounds of rubble and many homes uninhabitable, prompting residents to hesitate about returning. The strikes form part of the broader Israel-Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon, which has killed more than 2,100 people and displaced about 1.2 million, and has also damaged key infrastructure such as bridges over the Litani River.
