Omar Cooper Jr. kept a toe inbounds to snare Fernando Mendoza’s pass with 36 seconds left, lifting No. 2 Indiana to a 27-24 win at Penn State and preserving the Hoosiers’ unbeaten season. It was Indiana’s first victory in Happy Valley, thwarting the Nittany Lions’ push to end a six-game skid under interim coach Terry Smith. Penn State rallied from 13 down to lead 24-20 on a 19-yard strike to Nicholas Singleton, but Mendoza directed a 1:51 march to the winner. Coach Curt Cignetti called it the most improbable victory.
