FAA union members are picketing at O’Hare, day 39 of the government shutdown, to spotlight unpaid work, furloughs and concerns over aviation safety and family strain. PASS, representing 11,000 FAA and Department of Defense employees, will rally between Terminals 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. Flight disruptions are mounting after a federal order to cut air traffic by 10% at 40 airports, with 83 cancellations at O’Hare and 16 at Midway as of Saturday. United is posting affected flights and trying to spare hub routes, while American warns cancellations are fluid and urges customers to sign up for alerts.
