Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin is taking a temporary leave to deal with a personal matter in Sweden after his fiancee, Carolina Matovac, suffered sudden heart failure over the summer in France and later received a heart transplant. She is recovering, coach Lindy Ruff said, adding the team fully supports Dahlin and there is no timeline for his return. Dahlin, 25, had nine points in 14 games and voiced frustration with his play as Buffalo fell to 5-5-4. “Family and personal come before hockey,” Ruff said.
