Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin has stepped away from the team to be with his fiancée in Sweden as she continues recovering from a heart transplant. Coach Lindy Ruff said there is no timetable for Dahlin’s return and that Carolina Matovac has had no setbacks, calling the situation larger than hockey and emphasizing that family comes first. Matovac fell ill last summer in France and has remained in Sweden since. Dahlin, 25, has nine points in 14 games and heavy minutes, but recently admitted he is not satisfied with his play.
