President Donald Trump on Friday pardoned Major League Baseball star Darryl Strawberry, who pleaded guilty to tax evasion in 1995, the White House said. Strawberry, 63, served time and repaid taxes after failing to report tens of thousands of dollars in income. An eight-time All-Star who won titles with the Mets and Yankees, he later struggled with addiction and was suspended in 2000. The White House said he has been sober for over a decade and started a recovery center. The pardon follows recent clemency for George Santos and Changpeng Zhao.
