Miami’s latest mayoral contest reads like a family saga. On Tuesday, three candidates hail from political dynasties: Joe Carollo shares the ballot with his brother, City Commission hopeful Frank Carollo, while Xavier Suarez is the father of current Mayor Francis X. Suarez. Joe Carollo, 70, and Xavier Suarez, 76, once faced off in 1997, a race overturned by a judge for widespread voter fraud, making Carollo mayor; Suarez was not accused of wrongdoing.
