London police arrested Ethiopian national Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu in Finsbury Park after he was mistakenly freed from a Chelmsford prison, a blunder officials called an egregious failure. The convicted sex offender and asylum-seeker, sentenced in September to 12 months for offenses including the assault of a 14-year-old, had been misclassified for release instead of transfer to immigration detention.
