A federal judge in Newark ordered the government to delete nine Homeland Security social media posts he deemed prejudicial to U.S. Rep. LaMonica McIver, charged with assaulting and impeding immigration officers at the Delaney Hall detention center. Judge Jamel Semper also told prosecutors to turn over more video and said he’ll review McIver’s bid to dismiss the case based on congressional oversight. McIver pleaded not guilty to three counts. DHS video shows contact with an officer in a chaotic scene; intent is unclear. Democratic colleagues and Newark’s mayor attended court.
