Paul Daniel “Ace” Frehley, KISS’s founding guitarist and “Spaceman,” has died at 74, his family said in a statement reported by US media. He passed surrounded by family, who called his loss “beyond comprehension.” Bandmates Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons mourned an “irreplaceable rock soldier,” while Alice Cooper hailed him as a pioneering guitarist. A Bronx native, Frehley helped shape KISS’s original lineup and iconic personas, later reuniting for the 1996 tour and the group’s 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, and daughter, Monique.
