CNN’s KFile uncovered deleted Reddit posts by Graham Platner, a Marine veteran and oyster farmer now running for U.S. Senate in Maine, in which he called himself a 'communist,' derided 'all' police, and insulted rural White Americans. Platner, who deleted the posts before launching his campaign in August, told CNN he was angry then and disavowed the comments, saying they don’t reflect him today. The Democrat has drawn national attention and more than $4 million, boosted by Sen. Bernie Sanders’ endorsement, even as the rhetoric risks backlash in a state known for moderation.
