ICE arrested Hanover Park police officer Radule Bojovic, from Montenegro, on Thursday, accusing him of living in the U.S. unlawfully after overstaying a tourist visa that expired in 2015. DHS said Bojovic was encountered during a targeted enforcement action in Illinois. The Hanover Park Police Department had recently celebrated his graduation from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy and said he began a 15-week field training program. CNN has sought comment from the department and Bojovic. DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin condemned the case, calling him “a law enforcement officer who is actively breaking the law.”
