A plane carrying US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth made an unscheduled landing in the UK after a crack in the windshield during its return from NATO defence talks in Belgium, the Pentagon said on X. BBC Verify, citing FlightRadar24, showed it descended to 10,000 feet off Ireland and broadcast the 7700 general-emergency code before turning east. Officials said the landing followed standard procedures and everyone aboard, including Hegseth, is safe. Hegseth later wrote, “All good. Thank God. Continue mission!” In February, a plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio turned back for a similar cockpit-window crack.
