In a brutal setback for the 49ers, coach Kyle Shanahan said Fred Warner dislocated and fractured his ankle and will need season-ending surgery. The All-Pro went down with 7:48 left in the first quarter on a 10-yard Rachaad White run, his right leg rolled from behind by teammate Ji’Ayir Brown. Warner left with an air cast after recording one tackle; Tatum Bethune took over. He has missed only one game in eight seasons and played through a broken bone in his ankle last season. The 49ers, 4-2, have navigated a long injury list; this might be the biggest.
