New York City, Long Island and Westchester County are under a state of emergency as a nor’easter brings coastal flooding, high winds and travel disruptions through Monday. Coastal Flood Warnings and wind alerts are in effect. Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams said agencies are coordinating and urged caution. Over 7,000 utility workers are on standby as outages begin. Airports report delays, and the MTA banned empty and tandem trucks on bridges and tunnels through 6 p.m. Monday. New Jersey also declared an emergency, and NJ Transit suspended the 319 bus route.
