U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff’s Tel Aviv address was drowned out by jeers at a rally in Hostages Square, where families awaited the expected release of 20 surviving hostages from Gaza. Joined by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Witkoff stumbled and paused for over a minute, even mangling the prime minister’s name, as anger over Israel’s leadership flared. The rally was thought to number as high as 400,000. It came amid a Trump administration–brokered peace deal, with a ceasefire in place since Friday, while polls show waning support for Netanyahu.
