Chief Judge Virginia Kendall of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has stated that National Guard troops are not required at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago. This comes after the Trump administration deployed hundreds of troops to protect federal properties and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, claiming Chicago is 'out of control'. Illinois and Chicago are suing over the federalization of the troops, with a hearing scheduled for today.
