Ukraine reported a significant increase in Russian drone and missile attacks in September compared to August, with a 38% spike in combined strikes. Russia launched over 5,800 drones and missiles that month, despite Ukraine successfully intercepting a high percentage. These intensified long-range attacks, which have resulted in civilian casualties, also saw Russian drones briefly enter NATO airspace over Poland. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy condemned the strikes as evidence of Russia's unwillingness to pursue peace.
