SAG-AFTRA has strongly condemned Tilly Norwood, an AI "actress" created by Eline Van der Velden, which talent agents reportedly showed interest in signing. The union asserted that creativity must remain human-centered and opposes replacing human performers with synthetics. They stated Tilly is a computer program trained on uncompensated work and argued it jeopardizes performers' livelihoods and devalues human artistry. Despite creator Van der Velden viewing AI as a tool, many Hollywood stars like Melissa Barrera and Emily Blunt expressed fear and disapproval.
