Following Superman's $611 million box office success, DC Studios announced a sequel, "Man of Tomorrow," slated for July 9, 2027. James Gunn returns to write and direct, with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult reprising their roles as Superman and Lex Luthor. This isn't a direct sequel, Gunn confirmed. Other DC projects include a Supergirl film in 2026 and a Clayface film also in 2026. The new Superman film builds on the success of the previous installment, which reset the DC Cinematic Universe.
