Andriy Parubiy, a prominent Ukrainian politician and leader of the Euromaidan protests, was assassinated last weekend. The suspect confessed to the murder but denied any Russian connection, claiming personal revenge against the Ukrainian government. He requested a prisoner exchange to recover his son's body in Russia. Ukrainian police suspect Russian involvement in the killing. The suspect was denied bail and will be held for 60 days. A memorial was held in Kyiv.
