South Australia is banning fish-shaped soy sauce bottles to reduce plastic pollution. This follows a 2023 law banning other single-use plastics. While recyclable, the small size of these bottles hinders proper recycling. The ban, starting Monday, targets pre-filled 30ml containers with lids. Larger bottles and sachets remain unaffected. Australia aims to curb plastic waste reaching oceans, currently ranked seventh globally in plastic pollution control efforts.
