Astronomers detected the brightest fast radio burst (FRB) ever, dubbed "RBFLOAT," originating from galaxy NGC 4141, 130 million light-years away. Using the CHIME telescope and its Outriggers, they pinpointed the burst's location with unprecedented accuracy to a region smaller than a star cluster. Follow-up observations with the James Webb Space Telescope suggest a possible connection to a magnetar or a massive star with a neutron star companion. This discovery challenges existing theories about FRBs, particularly whether they all repeat, and opens possibilities for more explosive events as origins.
