Orsted shares tumble as U.S. halts wind project construction

Orsted, a wind farm developer, faced a major setback when the U.S. government halted construction of its nearly complete Revolution Wind Project off Rhode Island. This led to a 17% drop in Orsted's share price, hitting a record low. The project, 80% complete, had 45 of 65 turbines installed. Orsted, aiming for a $9.4 billion capital raise, is complying with the order but exploring solutions. Analysts express concern about the financial impact, with potential billion-dollar write-downs and increased capital needs if the project is completely abandoned.
