Despite summer's end, box office competition is heating up. 'Weapons' leads on Friday, but Netflix's 'KPop Demon Hunters' might win the weekend with its two-day theatrical sing-along release. This is a significant move for Netflix, known for its anti-theater stance. 'KPop Demon Hunters,' already a Netflix streaming hit, is playing in over 1,700 theaters, far more than Netflix's previous theatrical ventures. Other films like 'Honey Don't!', 'Freakier Friday', 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', 'The Bad Guys 2', and 'Nobody 2' are also in the running, while several new releases like 'Relay' and 'Eden' aim for success. A re-release of 'Ne Zha II' with a new English dub is also competing.
