A bus carrying recently deported Afghan migrants from Iran crashed and caught fire in Herat, Afghanistan, killing at least 76 people, including 17 children. The bus was traveling from Islam Qala near the Afghan-Iran border to Kabul. The incident follows a significant increase in deportations of undocumented Afghan migrants from Iran, sparked by unsubstantiated claims of espionage. The mass deportation, involving over half a million Afghans in just 16 days, has drawn international criticism.
