Acclaimed Korean director Park Chan-wook and co-creator Don McKellar have been expelled from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) for working on HBO Max's "The Sympathizer" during the recent writers' strike. This makes Park the highest-profile expulsion so far. The WGA also announced other disciplinary actions against members, including a lifetime ban on holding office for one writer. Park, known for films like "Oldboy" and "Decision to Leave," did not appeal the expulsion. The series, based on Viet Thanh Nguyen's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, stars Robert Downey Jr.
