Allianz Life, a U.S. insurance giant, confirmed a data breach affecting the majority of its customers, financial professionals, and some employees. Hackers exploited a third-party cloud-based CRM system via social engineering in mid-July. The breach was disclosed on Saturday, with notification to affected individuals expected around August 1. Allianz Life reported the incident to the FBI and stated no other systems were compromised. This attack follows a recent surge in data breaches targeting the insurance industry.
