Football Chief Jailed for War Crimes in CAR

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has convicted Patrice-Edouard Ngaïssona, former head of the Central African Republic's football federation, and Alfred Yekatom of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Ngaïssona received a 12-year sentence, while Yekatom received 15 years. The pair were found guilty of coordinating attacks against the Muslim population in 2013-14, including murder and torture. The trial, lasting almost four years, involved extensive evidence and witness testimony. Both men denied the charges.
