The Vatican has postponed until December 31, 2025, the final reports from study groups examining issues like women deacons and LGBT inclusion, initially due June 30. The six-month extension follows delays caused by Pope Francis' death and the subsequent sede vacante. Interim reports will be released in July. Ten study groups, formed at Pope Francis' request, are examining topics deemed too complex for the 2024 Synod. Pope Leo XIV approved the extension. The final reports will advise Pope Leo on potential Church decisions, contributing to the synodal process culminating in a Church assembly in October 2028.
