A bankruptcy court approved the $305 million sale of 23andMe, the genetic testing company, to a nonprofit, TTAM Research Institute, led by its former CEO Anne Wojcicki. The sale follows 23andMe's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing earlier this year, fueled by setbacks including a data breach and mass board resignations. TTAM plans to uphold customer privacy and enhance data security. The acquisition includes Lemonaid Health, a telemedicine service. The deal replaces a previous bid from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and follows a lawsuit by 27 states attempting to block the sale. The transaction is expected to close soon.
