HBO Family, a kid-friendly spinoff channel, will cease operations on August 15th, along with several Cinemax multiplex channels (ThrillerMax, MovieMax, OuterMax). This is part of Warner Bros. Discovery's strategy to reduce its multiplex channels due to declining viewership and a shift towards streaming. The decision comes as WBD plans to restructure, though HBO itself is unaffected. HBO Family aired some original programming and housed HBO's children's content in recent years.
