Consumer Sentiment Rebounds Amid Easing Trade Tensions

Consumer sentiment rebounded significantly in early June, according to the University of Michigan's Surveys of Consumers. The headline index surged to 60.5, exceeding expectations, driven by easing trade war concerns and reduced inflation outlook. While sentiment improved from April's lows, it remains below year-ago levels. One-year inflation expectations dropped to 5.1%, the lowest since 1981. Despite the improvement, consumers still harbor concerns about tariffs and geopolitical risks.
