Square Enix announced a full remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, titled "Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles," during Sony's State of Play. Releasing September 30, 2025, on PS4 and PS5, it will include the original game with updated translation and a new version featuring voice acting, enhanced visuals, interface improvements, and story additions. Rumors of a remake circulated since 2021, despite denials from the creator.
