Google Messages is rolling out a Material 3 Expressive redesign, starting with the chat interface. The update features rounded corners for the message thread and 'plus' menu, a redesigned emoji menu with a connected button group, and a lowered density grid. The changes are currently observed in a Samsung beta version (20250528_00_RC00) and a wider rollout is expected later. Other app sections remain unchanged.
