Retired Russian commander Zaur Gurtsiev, 34, who led airstrikes on Mariupol, died in a blast in Stavropol, Russia. Authorities are investigating, not ruling out Ukrainian involvement. Gurtsiev, a recipient of several medals for his actions in Ukraine, was serving as Stavropol's deputy mayor and participated in the Kremlin's 'Time of Heroes' program. His death follows a string of high-profile Russian military deaths since the start of the Ukraine conflict, some claimed by Ukraine. A 29-year-old acquaintance also perished in the explosion.
