Russia and Ukraine conducted a large prisoner exchange, releasing 303 soldiers each, following two previous swaps totaling over 700. This is the largest such exchange of the war, stemming from recent peace talks. However, the exchange was overshadowed by a massive Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, killing at least 12 and injuring dozens. Ukrainian officials called it the largest aerial assault since the February 2022 invasion. Despite the prisoner swap, fighting continues along the front lines.
