The USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier launched the largest-ever airstrike from a single carrier, dropping 125,000 pounds of ordnance on ISIS-Somalia targets in February. Adm. James Kilby confirmed the operation, involving around 16 F/A-18 Super Hornets in a single bombing run from the Red Sea. This follows months of the Truman's combat operations in the Middle East, including engagements with Houthi rebels in Yemen and interception of their drones and missiles. The carrier group also experienced several incidents, including friendly fire and collisions, during its deployment.
