Over 250 suspected gang members, including 238 from Venezuela's Tren de Aragua and 23 from MS-13, were deported from the US to El Salvador on March 16, 2025. El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele confirmed their transfer to the CECOP mega-prison. Heavy security measures were implemented in San Salvador. Separately, a Venezuelan man deported under the Alien Enemies Act won a legal challenge, with a court ruling that his deportation violated a prior settlement agreement.
