A study in Neurology suggests that mini-strokes (TIAs), often undiagnosed, can cause persistent fatigue for up to a year. Researchers followed 354 patients and found 61% experienced increased fatigue two weeks post-TIA, with half reporting fatigue at three, six, and twelve months. The study highlights the need for increased awareness and follow-up care for TIA patients to address this long-term fatigue, which may be linked to brain compensation and damage from the temporary blood flow disruption.
