Federal Reserve holds rates because of Trump tariff 'uncertainty'

The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady at 4.3%, citing uncertainty caused by President Trump's tariffs. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell stated that the tariffs could lead to inflation, slower economic growth, and higher unemployment, making the appropriate action unclear. This is the third consecutive meeting without a rate change. Trump has repeatedly pressured the Fed to lower rates, while the ECB has already cut rates due to trade tensions.
