The International Pentecost Holiness Church in South Africa held mass Easter weddings for approximately 3,000 people, many of whom entered into polygamous marriages. Church spokesperson Vusi Ndala stated that polygamy is highly regarded within the church, with some men marrying up to seven wives. This year's event was the largest yet, surpassing a 2023 ceremony of 400 couples. The church, founded in the 1960s, incorporates local traditions into its Pentecostal beliefs. Polygamy is legal in South Africa with proper registration.
