Apple Alters iOS 28 Development Process
Tap title to read story
Apple has changed its development process for iOS twenty-eight and macOS twenty-eight, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Gurman explained that Apple now splits each year’s new operating systems into three major stages, each traditionally consisting of four weeks of coding followed by a four‑week convergence period. For iOS twenty‑eight, the first stage now lasts six weeks of coding and exploration, followed by only two weeks of convergence. Engineers say the change gives them more time to generate and refine new features before locking them in. Gurman did not disclose specific features, but the beta is expected in June and the public release in September next year.
