Carlos Alcaraz, twenty-three-year-old Spaniard, said he is ready for one of the most difficult challenges in tennis after securing a rematch against Ben Shelton in the Paris Masters final.
After escaping two match points to pull off a comeback in his quarter‑final against Taylor Fritz on Friday, Alcaraz won 6‑4 6‑4 over Casper Ruud to reach the final.
He has lost only one of the sixteen matches he has contested since losing to Shelton in New York, and heads into the rematch on an eight‑match winning streak after triumphing in Vienna last week.
Alcaraz demonstrated all‑court superiority, winning eighty‑six percent of points on his first serve, producing twenty winners—including thirteen from the forehand—and winning eleven of thirteen points at the net in an eighty‑six minute win.
