Apple has entered the foldable phone race with the iPhone Duo, its first folding iPhone. The Duo, released on October twenty‑third, 2026, opens like a book to reveal a seven‑point‑six‑inch OLED display and a titanium frame. It is priced near two thousand dollars and weighs more than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, which debuted in 2019 and uses a lighter design. The Duo runs Apple’s A20 Pro processor and a new iOS version tailored for folding. Samsung’s Fold 8 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen five and One UI nine. Both phones offer similar screen sizes but differ in battery life, repair costs, and weight.
