Vikings Consider Bench Murray Over Hamstring
Tap title to read story
The Minnesota Vikings are evaluating whether to bench quarterback Kyler Murray because of a hamstring tightness that could serve as a cover for a soft benching strategy. The team has already relied on injuries to keep Murray out, and the current status of his hamstring has prompted speculation. Carson Wentz, who performed well in the Week one win over the Packers and the Week two win over the Bears, is seen as a potential replacement. Offensive coordinator Wes Phillips said the team will pursue every avenue to improve performance, including possible trade upgrades. Murray’s passer rating of eighty‑six point six is the lowest of his career, and the Vikings remain 6‑1.
