Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil, the franchise’s newest reboot, has finally become available for digital download, arriving in mid‑September after a worldwide theatrical run that earned over four hundred million dollars. The film stars Austin Abrams as a medical courier who must deliver a package on a snowy night while a containment breach unleashes grotesque creatures. Cregger’s direction returns to the series’ roots, placing viewers in the shoes of a player navigating a progressively terrifying world and upgrading weapons. Though some hardcore fans noted the story’s tangential relation to the game lore, the movie’s success made it the highest‑grossing entry in the Resident Evil saga. Fandango’s release of the opening minutes has helped fans reacquaint themselves with the film’s manic atmosphere before watching the full feature.
