JPMorgan Chase has deployed five billion dollars in its first year of a security and resiliency initiative, targeting defense, manufacturing and supply‑chain firms. The bank, which last year pledged ten billion dollars over a decade, is expanding the program beyond that initial amount. Todd Combs, the former Berkshire Hathaway executive, has led the effort, securing stakes in startups Hadrian and Castelion. Hadrian builds automated factories for defense components, while Castelion develops a low‑cost hypersonic missile. The initiative reflects concerns over wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and trade tensions with China.
