China’s Economy Grows 4.5% in Third Quarter

China’s economy grew 4.5% year over year in the third quarter, compared with 4.3% in the second quarter. The result exceeded the 4.4% forecast in a Reuters poll. Growth averaged 4.6% over the first nine months, while demand for technological exports helped offset weak consumer spending and the property slump.
